From one band'slight showto arenas.

The system Lee built for his own band became Duck Lights: a team of lighting and music professionals who design, program and deliver synchronized shows.

Our story

Started by a touring musician who wanted the lights to hit with the music.

Lee Duck built his first synced lighting system on a small budget while touring in his own band. Every show we make still starts there: the music first, and every cue locked to it.

Today the team designs and programs for touring artists, livestreams and music videos, from clubs to arenas.

How we work

The music comes first

Lighting serves the song, the artist and the audience. Every choice starts with what the moment needs.

A system that frees the creative

One showfile language and one method, so more of our time goes into the looks, not the setup.

Built to recover

Testing, backups and a manual fallback. When a venue or a cable surprises us, the show still goes on.

Handed off clean

A show isn't done until the next operator can pick it up and run it without guessing.

Los Angeles

Office, studio and warehouse in one place.

We're about eight minutes east of Downtown Los Angeles. Gear ships from here, shows get programmed here, and we tour from here across North America and abroad.

Do you travel?

Yes. We work across North America and abroad, and some work can be done remotely to save on travel.

What if we don't play to tracks?

Plug & Play needs backing or click tracks. Without them, we'll talk through an operated show, or help you set up playback.

What does design cost?

Usually a weekly equipment rental, on-site programmer days, and a design and programming fee, which typically runs $5k to $20k. We estimate after a free consultation.
